Saturday Feb. 13, 2021: The Orrville Police Department received calls regarding several vehicles that were entered overnight. The affected areas include: Schrock Road, South Elm Street, Fike Avenue, South Walnut Street, Dogwood Drive and Hostetler Road. We are asking residents who have exterior residential security cameras to check those cameras for any suspicious persons. We believe these incidents occurred between 8 p.m. Friday night and 3 a.m. this morning.

One tip for searching camera footage, look for footprints in the snow around vehicles. If you see footprints that you feel are suspicious, look several hours earlier in the footage. If the prints are not there, you can begin to quickly narrow down when they appear again and eventually find the source of the prints.

We are asking residents/businesses that have video surveillance equipment to check during these times to see if you captured footage of the suspect. You can either call OPD at 330 684-5025 or submit an anonymous tip via TIP411. There are two ways to submit an anonymous tip. You can go to this link or send a text to 847411 and in the body of the message start by typing OPD and then your tip.
