On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at approximately 3 a.m., the Orrville Police Department responded to 211 Chateau Circle for a report of an unconscious female with lacerations to her neck. Unfortunately, the female had already passed away due to her injuries by the time officers arrived at the scene. The victim was identified as 39 year old Jessica Duprey.

The victim’s mother, who resides at the same address and was present during the incident, informed the officers that the victim’s boyfriend, Shaun Ross, had been involved in a physical altercation with the victim and subsequently fled the scene in the victim’s 2012 red Chevy Traverse.

Officers recovered a bloody knife at the scene believed to be the murder weapon.

The victim’s vehicle was later located in the 300 block of Sassafras Street. A K9 unit conducted a thorough search of the area near the residence where the vehicle was found, but Ross was not located.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) promptly responded to process the crime scene. Additionally, the Wayne County Coroner’s Office was contacted to assist with the investigation.

Orrville police are actively seeking Shaun Ross in connection with this case. Ross should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who comes into contact with him should immediately dial 911.
