Did you know that no person shall sell or solicit the sales of goods or services without first registering with the Orrville Police Department? The City of Orrville requires solicitors to register primarily to enhance public safety by allowing authorities to monitor who is going door-to-door selling products or services and to provide a means for residents to report suspicious activity or identify fraudulent solicitors if needed. There is no fee when registering to solicit in the City of Orrville.

Also, solicitors are only authorized to solicit door to door within the city between the hours of 9am-5pm. No person shall sell or solicit between the hours of 5pm-9am, nor anytime on Sundays or legal holidays.

Those solicitors registered with the police department will be provided a soliciting permit ID on a lanyard that they will be instructed to display around their neck.
